Nikola Ragusa, M.D. is a highly-experienced glaucoma expert and laser cataract surgeon.
Dr. Ragusa attended the prestigious seven year program at CUNY Medical school and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from the Downstate School of Medicine. He was Chief Resident at Northwell for his ophthalmology residency and Chief Glaucoma Fellow at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and actively teaches and guides doctors in training.
Dr. Ragusa is active in both academic and private practice settings. He is a micro incisional glaucoma surgery (MIGS) specialist and has given lectures all over the United States. He provides comprehensive eye care and treatment options specifically tailored for his patients. He was one of the first doctors in the United States to offer Femto Laser Cataract Surgery, OMNI Canaloplasty, the Hydrus microstent, Synergy Multifocal Extended Depth of Focus Lens, amongst others.
He is dedicated to research and has published a number of papers. In addition he was a principal investigator on the phase 3 ARTEMIS Bimotoprost SR trial, iCare Home tonometer, and a sub-investigator on the Heidelberg Tomography Glaucoma Normative Database. He has over a decade of clinical experience and is one of the most experienced surgeons by volume in the New York Metro area.
